Document List
What You See
When you open Documents from the Vault Hub, you see a scrollable list of your uploaded files. Each entry shows:
- A color-coded file icon based on the file type:
- Red for PDFs
- Purple for images
- Blue for Word documents
- Green for spreadsheets
- Gray for text files
- Orange for archives (ZIP, etc.)
- Teal for other file types
- The file name
- The file size (formatted in KB or MB)
At the top is a search bar. On phones, an "Add Document" button floats at the bottom right. On desktop, the screen shows a split view.
What You Can Do

Document Details
What You See
When you view a document, the detail screen shows:
- A large file icon (color-coded by type), centered
- The file name in a large heading
- The file size below the name
- Two action buttons:
- Download — decrypts and saves the file to your device
- Preview — shows the file content (text files only)
- Metadata chips showing created, updated, and last accessed dates
- Document Information card with: name, file extension, size, and exact size in bytes
- Security notice: "This document is encrypted with AES-256-GCM. Only you can decrypt and view it."
What You Can Do

| Download the file | Tap "Download" → choose where to save it |
| Preview a text file | Tap "Preview" (only available for .txt files) |
| Edit the document name or folder | Tap the edit icon in the top bar |
| Delete the document | Tap the delete icon in the top bar |
Download process:
- Tap "Download"
- The file is decrypted in memory
- A file save dialog opens — choose where to save
- The decrypted data is securely wiped from memory after saving
- A message appears with an "Open Folder" action to navigate to the saved file
- On Windows: opens File Explorer
- On macOS: opens Finder
- On Linux: opens the file manager
Preview is available only for .txt files. For other file types, download the file and open it with the appropriate application.
Upload / Edit a Document
What You See
The document editor shows:
- A security banner: "Documents are encrypted with AES-256-GCM before storage." with the maximum file size shown
- File Upload area (for new documents):
- Before selecting a file: a cloud upload icon with "Tap to select a file"
- After selecting: the file icon, name, size, and a remove button
- Document Name field (required)
- Folder selector
In edit mode, you can only change the document name and folder — the file itself cannot be replaced.
How to Upload a Document
- Tap "Add Document" from the documents list or Vault Hub
- Tap the upload area to open your device's file picker
- Select a file — its name and size appear in the upload area
- The Document Name field auto-fills with the file name (you can change it)
- Optionally select a Folder
- Tap "Save"
The file is encrypted before being stored on your device.
Validation
- Document Name is required
- A file must be selected for new documents
- The file must not exceed the maximum size limit (shown on the screen)
How to Delete a Document
- From the document detail screen, tap the delete icon
- Confirm: "Move to Trash?" — the document's file name is shown in the dialog
- The document moves to Trash for 30 days
