What You See
When you open DavianVault for the first time (or after signing out), the Sign In screen appears. It shows:
- The DavianVault logo at the top
- The app name "DavianVault" and tagline "Zero-Trust Password Manager"
- Three security highlights:
- AES-256-GCM Encryption — Military-grade encryption for all your data
- Cross-Platform — Android, iOS, macOS, Windows
- Zero Trust — Your data never leaves your device unencrypted
- A large "Sign in with Google" button
- A privacy notice: "Your credentials are encrypted locally. No application diagnostics logs are stored."
How to Sign In
- Tap "Sign in with Google"
- A Google sign-in screen appears — choose your Google account or enter your Google email and password
- DavianVault receives your name, email, and profile photo from Google — it never sees or stores your Google password
What Happens Next
- If this is your first time using DavianVault with this Google account → you'll be taken to the Create Your Vault screen
- If you've used DavianVault before with this account → you'll be taken to the Unlock Your Vault screen
- If a cloud backup is found on your Google Drive from a previous device → the app restores it and asks you to unlock
If Something Goes Wrong
If sign-in fails, an error dialog appears with:
- A description of what went wrong
- Troubleshooting guidance based on the type of error
- A "Retry" button (for temporary errors like network issues)
- A "Close" button
Common causes: no internet connection, cancelled the Google sign-in, or Google Play Services is unavailable.
Important Notes
- Google Sign-In is required — it's used as your identity and enables cloud backup
- DavianVault never stores your Google password — authentication is handled entirely by Google
- Your vault data is completely separate from your Google account — Google cannot read it
